Red River: Walleye and Sauger action is picking up, reports are the greenbacks starting to show up, the fall run should be pretty good this year, so be ready. Try using salted minnows, near the Selkirk area.

Pine Falls: Reports of lots of smaller greenbacks being caught, although not that huge it is a sign the fall run is starting.

Second Lake (Elton/Segrim canoe route): : Walleye action is good right now. Try drifting over structure with jigs tipped with night crawlers. Fish seemed to be holding to drop offs between the 12' and 16' depths. The portage trails are in excellent shape. (Thanks StevieB)

Shoe Lake: Bass action is good. Try working weed beds with bright colored tubes. Work slowly; fish will pick it up as it is dropping. Jigging off structure and mid lake refs can also produce numbers. Use small jigs with a small tail or piece of night crawler. You will also pick up some nice walleye doing this. Remember nothing over 16" can be kept. (Thanks StevieB)

Lac du Bonnet: The walleye action is getting hot. Fish current edges, white whistle jigs tipped with big salted minnows should do the trick. Or troll spinners around willow reef - if they aren’t there, try between the islands at hay bay.

Lake of the Prairies: The walleye action is hot - closer to Roblin, use big salted minnows and jig it slow, white seems to be the choice color.

Falcon Lake: Walleye fishing is hot at dawn and dusk, try the north shore line and troll bottom bouncers and spinners with huge night crawlers, once you find them slow it down and use smaller jigs.
